Global missions serving a global God
As Christians, we have a clear command from Jesus Christ to spread the Good News of the Gospel to all nations. But it doesn’t stop there! Jesus says in Matthew 28:19-20 that the way we make disciples is by “baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
As a ministry, River of Life has made this their sole purpose. We are on a mission to touch every corner of the earth, bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations. We teach, we preach, we baptize, and we train others to do the same. We make disciples who make more disciples by presenting the love of Jesus Christ everywhere we go!
“Everything will live where the river goes.” – Ezekiel 47:9
Without water, there would be no life. In Ezekiel’s vision, the water flowing from the house of God rehydrated, revived and nourished all in its path. In Ephesians 5:25-27, Paul likens the truth of God’s Word to life-giving, cleansing water. So, throughout Latin America, Asia and North America, you’ll find our founder, Mark Simpson, leading multi-cultural short-term mission teams, helping to build churches, starting Bible schools, teaching classes, training pastors and leaders, speaking at churches and marriage conferences, and much, much more. We want to see revival in all nations!
Mark and Lois Simpson
Mark and Lois both committed their lives to Jesus Christ around the same time, in the fall of 1973, in the St. Louis area of the United States. Mark sensed God’s call on his life shortly after, and in December 1973 began to prepare for Latin American missionary service. After a season in Mexico as a student at New Hope Bible School, he and Lois were married in March 1975 and ordained to the Gospel ministry through their home church, Full Gospel Tabernacle, then pastored by the Rev. Henry Redman and his wife, Helen.
After a season in Mexico of teaching and evangelism, followed by serving with their home church in the St. Louis area, the Lord directed them to ministry in Guatemala after the country-wide earthquake hit in 1976. To this day, they still serve both fellowships they helped plant.
